How do I remove a watermark from an image?

Drop the image in, paint over the mark, and press the button. There is no account and nothing to buy, and the result carries no watermark of ours.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The repair runs in your browser, on your machine, and no request carries the picture anywhere. The one thing that is downloaded is the repair model itself, once per visit. Open the network panel while you work and you will see it fetch the model and nothing else.

Does it recover what was behind the watermark?

No, and nothing can. Those pixels were overwritten when the watermark was applied, so they are not in the file to recover. What you get is a generated replacement that continues the picture around it, which is a different thing and worth knowing before you rely on it.

Why did it put something strange in the gap?

Because it rebuilds rather than copies. That is most likely when the painted area is large, or covers something with structure like a face or a straight edge. Badly. A mark spread over the entire picture leaves almost nothing to continue from, and the result is largely invented. This tool is at its best on a corner logo, a date stamp or a caption bar.

Am I allowed to do this?

That depends on the picture and it is your call rather than ours. Removing a mark from your own photograph, your own logo, or an image you have licensed is an ordinary edit. A watermark on somebody else's work is usually there to say the work is theirs, and taking it off does not change who owns it.

25 MB, which is a limit of doing this in a tab rather than a policy. The picture keeps its full resolution: only the window around your brush strokes is scaled for the repair, and it is composited back at the original size.
