FAQ

Is my photo uploaded?
No. Your photo is never part of a request. The network fetches the codec, and the conversion runs here.
Will JPG to PNG make the photo sharper?
No, and nothing will. PNG faithfully keeps whatever the JPG already had, including its compression artefacts. What PNG buys you is that nothing further is lost from here on.
Which should I pick for a website?
WebP is safe nearly everywhere now and clearly smaller than JPG. AVIF is smaller still and every current browser reads it; only years old ones do not.
Can I go the other way, PNG to JPG?
Yes, on the Image Converter page, which takes any of the four formats in and out.
