Transparency gets a white backing
A PDF page has no transparency to speak of, so anything see through is composited onto white first. Without that step the same file looks different in every reader.

FAQ
- Are my screenshots uploaded?
- No. Your screenshots are never part of a request. The network fetches the tool’s code and nothing else; the conversion itself happens here, which the network panel will show you plainly.
- What happens to transparent areas?
- They become white. That is a decision, not a limitation: a PDF page is opaque, and leaving the alpha channel in produces black patches in some readers and white in others.
- Will the text in my screenshots stay sharp?
- The image goes in at its own resolution and is not re-compressed, so it is exactly as sharp as the file you dropped in. Choosing pages that match the image keeps it at one to one.
- Can I mix in a JPEG?
- Yes. The tool takes JPEG and WebP as well, and handles each one the right way round.
