Photoroom is built for product photos: cutouts, generated scenes, templates, batches, the lot. Two of those jobs are here and free. The cutout, and the flat colour you put behind it afterwards. The generated scenes and the templates are not here, and pretending otherwise would waste your afternoon before it wasted ours.

The two jobs split in a way worth knowing about. The cutout is sent to our servers, processed and dropped. Putting a colour behind the result never leaves your machine at all. Same site, two different promises, and the copy says which is which every time rather than blurring them together.
How to switch

Cut the subject out
JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF or AVIF, up to 20 MB. A transparent PNG comes back at full resolution.

Put a colour behind it
Eight presets with white first, a colour picker, or any hex value typed in. This step runs on your own machine.

PNG at the original size, no watermark, nothing to buy before you can save it.
FAQ
- Which white do marketplaces want?
- Pure white, #FFFFFF. Amazon requires it for main product images and most other marketplaces expect it. It is the first preset for that reason.
- Can it do a batch?
- No. One image at a time, which is the honest answer and the real gap if you are listing fifty products a week.
- Is my photo uploaded?
- Yes. It goes to our servers, gets processed, and is dropped. It is not stored, not logged, and never used to train anything. We keep no copy: there is no database in this app to keep one in.
- How close is the cutout?
- Close on products, people and objects against a plain background. Paid services still do better on hair and semi transparent edges, and this one will not pretend otherwise.
